I love all things tribal. Seeing the grace and the fortitude of nomadic hunter gatherers and tree dwellers in the jungle reminds me of how capable we are of living in harmony with ourselves, one another and our environment. Even though it’s hard to grasp in our techy world, I think going barefoot and creating ceremony, learning ancient crafts and talking with respect to one another is the least we can do to ensure our wellbeing and the reconnection with the earth energies.

This little painting was very spontaneous, the second layer of thickly applied and freely felt acrylic. The little tribal man appeared from out of nowhere, perhaps here to remind me to wield my spear of truth with pride and skill. I like him a lot.
